Who am I and why I blog photos

I’m Jody, your Park Planning Pal. I’ve been traveling to Disney since 1984. The frequency of my trips ramped up in 2022. A year later I began taking my daughters, who were two and a half and four at the time. This past June, we enjoyed their 5th trip.

In 2020 I began listening to Disney podcasts and following a variety of Disney content. I dove headfirst into dreaming about my Happy Place while things in my personal life were feeling a bit stressful; raising a small child, pregnant with my second, and navigating a worldwide pandemic as a bedside nurse . I learned a lot.

As my love of Disney grew, I started realizing “The Most Magical Place on Earth” was not so magical for everyone. Even though Disney was made for kids and their grown ups to enjoy together, it seemed many grown ups I talked to were not enjoying it. While I find the intense planning and research that goes into a Walt Disney World Vacation to be an extenstion of the trip, it is a logistical and overwhelming nightmare for many.

I love to talk Disney and I want to help other families have the successful visits we experience. So far, I’ve been to Walt Disney World 16 times, sailed upon the Disney Wish, enjoyed a staycation at Aulani, and even made it to Hong Kong Disneyland for a day. I’ve celebrated Birthdays with the Mouse, taken best friend girl trips, done a pre-cruise Resort only stay, gone on a multigenerational trip, and done many nuclear family vacations as well. To share some of my knowledge, this Blog was born.

While I hope my articles are fun and informative reads, if just viewing this content feels like sensory overload, please reach out. I love narrowing down the options for you; presenting a few hotels that will be right for you, parks and park plans that will work for your family, and must eat dining given your group’s preferences. I can identify what is skippable for your family, because you can not do it all!

Walt Disney World is located on around 43 square miles, which is about twice the size of Manhattan. It’s home to four Major Theme parks, two Water Parks, four miniature golf locations, four professional Golf courses, and many more forms of recreation and entertainment. They have a Pet Daycare, over 20 “on property” Resorts, and a massive shopping and entertainment district called Disney Springs. No wonder it is a popular vacation destination, but also one that hits many with decision fatigue!

I believe that a little pre-planning and strategizing (taking into account individual likes, wants and needs) can lead to a unique and pixie-dusted vacation everyone can enjoy.

So, if you found me, you’re as welcome as can be. Hopefully something in these pages speaks to your travel needs and can set you up for an absolutely magical trip experience with your own family.
